Mobile speed measurement
MOSY offers two types of mobile speed measurement that helps to improve road safety and saves lives. On all types of roads and in urban and rural areas, there is a clear need for effective speed measurement and enforcement.
most common reason for road accidents in the US is speeding.
of fatal car crashes in the UK are due to excessive speed.
RADAR VS. SECTION-BASED SPEED MEASUREMENT
We offer two different types of mobile speed measurement. Which one suits your needs the best?
RADAR SPEED MEASUREMENT
Patrol vehicles are equipped with a Doppler radar antenna, Evidence camera and Radar control unit (computer). The radar antenna captures vehicles on the left side of the patrol car. If the measured vehicle was driving above defined threshold, evidence package with metadata, photos or even video sequence is created. System works during day and night, during driving or being stationary, in both approaching and receding directions, up to the second or third lane. Own speed is measured by the same Radar antenna, from the ground reflections.
Speed measuring while moving or stationary
Measurement of approaching and receding traffic, and in two traffic lanes
Speeds monitored in two traffic lanes
Works day and night
SECTION-BASED SPEED MEASUREMENT
The system does not measure immediate speed of the target vehicle with Doppler radar but calculates its average speed during short time interval/distance travelled using data from the video surveillance and ANPR cameras and comparing the speed of the target vehicle with own speed obtained from high precision GNSS/INS module. This mobile speed enforcement system is called m*SpeedDetV. The system measures speed of a target that drives behind the measuring car or in front of the measuring car within a section.
Based on average speed calculation within a section distance
Fix mounting in the vehicle
Evidence package with calculated average speed, position, time, pictures and video
External IR light mounted behind the front mask
